Piccolo is a 60 acre organic farm operated by David
Silveira and his family. The farm began in 2005 and
is located in Atwater, California. We produce organic
vegetables and fruits for our weekly delivery program
David’s love for farming began on the Azores islands
where he learned to farm with his father. He then returned
to the U.S. and studied agriculture at Cal Poly SLO.
After graduating he worked in agriculture until we started
strive to have diversity on the farm and to sell what
the farm produces. Occasionally the farm will collaborate
or partner with another local organic farms to supplement
your boxes with additional varieties of produce. We
believe that this is the way a small family farm with
limited capital can establish itself in a market place
currently under the control of large corporations.
We are working to provide the tools and support to make
cooking seasonal and local produce easier for our members,
by providing recipes and ideas that are simple, while
highlighting the natural flavor and sweetness of each
ingredient. We understand that eating seasonally is
not the easiest thing to do, but want to help people
enjoy eating healthy fruits and vegetables at their
peak of freshness.
