Background Information:
Watermelons are available throughout the summer from late June to September.

Basic Usage and Cooking Strategies:
Make sure to wash the outside of the melon before cutting into it and store in the refrigerator after being cut.
Cut in wedges for easy serving or peel and cut the flesh into cubes. Freeze watermelon cubes and blend in the blender for a fruit freeze. Watermelon will make a great savory salad with feta cheese and red onion.

Storage Information:
Keep at room temperature until ripe and then store in the refrigerator. Peel and freeze the cut flesh for use in smoothies.
